How buying a gun in Little Rock works
Pick an FFL dealer near you that accepts shipped transfers and name it at checkout. We confirm their license and ship the firearm to them. Ammunition, optics and parts ship straight to your door where Arkansas law allows.
Arkansas requires no purchase permit or firearm registration, and there is no state waiting period. At a licensed dealer, buyers present photo ID, complete ATF Form 4473, and pass a federal NICS background check. If approved, the firearm can be taken home the same day. Federal law mandates a minimum age of 18 for rifles and shotguns and 21 for handguns. Private sales between Arkansas residents do not require a background check, but it is illegal to transfer a firearm to someone known to be prohibited.

Carrying a gun in Pulaski County
Arkansas does not mandate a license to carry a handgun, openly or concealed, for those legally allowed to possess one. Act 746 of 2013 clarified that carrying a weapon is only an offense if done with unlawful intent, and Act 777 of 2023 explicitly removed the license requirement for concealed carry. The Arkansas State Police still issue Concealed Handgun Carry Licenses for reciprocity and enhanced endorsements. Carrying remains prohibited in courthouses, jails, schools, government meetings, airport terminals, and posted locations.
